Dr. Richard LU's Laboratory of West China Second University Hospital publishes a paper on the Cell
On the current issue of Cell (17 January, 2013 Volume 152, Issue 1), Dr. LU Qing’s Laboratory of West China Institutes for Women and Children’s Health, West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University published a paper entitled "Olig2 targets chromatin remodelers to enhancers to initiate oligodendrocyte differentiation", with YU Yang of the hospital as the first author and Professor LU Qing (Richard LU) the corresponding author. Postgraduates or the hospital, He Xuelian, Liu Lei, and Liu Wei joint the work and were listed among the authors.
This paper represents a breakthrough in the study of glia cells and provides a ground for the study of the development of nervous system and treatment of neurological diseases.
Professor LU is renowned for the research of glia cell development and related diseases. The paper published on the current Cell by his team was supported by the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education for Maternal and Child Diseases and Birth Defects, Innovative Team of Cheung Kong Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education of China for the Basic and Clinical Research of Early Development and Injury, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
