From May 21th to 22nd, 2012, the FIGO Educational Training and Western China Obstetrics and Gynecology Symposium was held at the Convention Center, 3rd floor, the New Convention and Exhibition Center. Nearly two hundred obstetricians and gynecologists in West China attended the symposium. The former vice minister of the Ministry of Health of China and former vice president of Chinese Medical Association and former president of the West China University of Medical Sciences, professor Cao Zeyi, and experts from Hong Kong, Canada, France, UK, Spain, Fenland, Italy, and Japan were present at the symposium.
The president of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics, professor Sir Sabaratnam Arulkumaran acted as executive chair of the the symposium. Mr. Shen Ji, director of the Department of Health of Sichuan Province, delivered a welcome speech. Professor Gou Wenli of Xi’an Jiaotong University, professor Xiong Qin director of Sichuan Institute of Women and Children Healthcare, Professor Xi Mingrong vice president of the West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University, Professor Zhao Xia, director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, West China Second University Hospital co-chaired the lectures, which focused on forefront research and issues closely related to the health of women.
