Guided by the principle of humanism, the Nursing Department implements “patient and family-centered care and nurse-oriented management”. Adhering to the core values of considerateness, integrity, shared governance and innovation, we will be the most trustworthy nursing team in China.

Our team is highly educated and well trained with a fine expertise. Of the 1,637 nurses on our team, 116 have a master or PhD degree, accounting for 7%; 49 are deputy chief nurses and above, accounting for 3%; 5 are doctoral and master tutors and 8 are members of the China International Emergency Medical Team. More than 50% of head nurses have been trained in overseas hospitals. Our hospital is the vice chair unit of the Pediatrics and Obstetrics Specialized Committee of the Chinese Nursing Association, the chair unit of the Nursing Branch of the China Maternal and Child Health Association, the vice chair unit of the Sichuan Nursing Association and the chair unit of the Gynecology, Obstetrics and Pediatrics.

Based on the national high-quality nursing service requirements and nursing grading standards, and driven by the nursing mission, our hospital has innovatively created the BESTWISH nursing model to provide patients with all-around body-mind-spirit care. Obstetrics wards and the Neonatology Department are the demonstration wards of the country’s National Health Commission. Our hospital is also among the first batch of national standardized training bases for midwives, of clinical teaching bases for specialized nurses in gynecology, pediatrics and neonatal medicine outside Beijing and of training bases for specialized midwives and nurses in maternal, gynecological, newborn and pediatric nursing in Sichuan Province. Each year, our team members author or co-author more than 10 textbooks and monographs, authorize more than 20 patents and publish 600 papers, some of which have been indexed by SCI and Medline. We have won a great number of awards in national teaching competitions held by China’s Ministry of Health and won scientific and technological achievement awards granted by the Chinese Nursing Association and the Sichuan Provincial Medical Association.
